The widely renowned first video game is a game called pong. Pong is a game in which two or one players control a “paddle” and must move it up and down to prevent a small ball from passing their paddle and scoring the opponent a point. If you were to play one player your opponent would be a computer and if you play with two players, it would be the other player as your opponent. The game was a first to 11 style game. When you would score a point the ball would be sent to the middle and launched towards the person who did not score the point.
Pong and Atari
Pong was the first game that was developed by the widely known video game company Atari. It was originally meant to be a warmup or practice exercise for the developers and because the company liked to project so much that they decided to produce it and let it be purchased and used by the public. The games sound effects were produced by the sync generator after the developer was unsure how to produce the sounds using digital circuits. The first version of the game was installed at a local bar because of the relationship the CEO of Atari had with the bar owner. After that the game blew up and caused a new industry to be born.
